April Update

April went by VERY quickly for me. Here is what we were up too...

On Easter morning Adam and Rex searched for eggs that the Easter bunny left hiding in our apartment.

Looking under the couch

They were successful!

We had the missionaries over for Easter dinner and they didn't eat nearly enough ham. I still have some in the freezer.

Adam taking a break after all of the fun.

A few days later our friends had us over for an awesome BBQ dinner. Luckily Adam had so much fun watching the other kids that he feel asleep on Rex's lap without a fuss. I had to steal this picture from my friend's blog because I love it so much.

(Mom-Doesn't he look so much like a Snow in this picture?)

The next day the weather was beautiful so I decided to take Rex and Adam to the Oakland Zoo. It was super crowded that day but we had fun.

Adam stayed awake longer than he did at the SF Zoo last month. He loved being outside and checking everything out.

This month Adam started learning how to sit up surrounded by pillows and blankets.

He also puts EVERYTHING in his mouth, including his fingers.

Check out the darling pictures that my Aunt Cheryl took of Adam in the post below!

My Sweet Boy

I promised I would post these a long time ago. Sorry it too me so long! My Aunt Cheryl took these pictures of us when Adam was just over four months old. I posted a lot of them because it was so hard to pick and choose which ones to use. She did such a great job!

Adam smiled so well because my beautiful sister was there and she has the magic touch.

Can you see why everyone thinks Adam is her baby?

We love you Aunt Melis!

Adam is Talking!

The "shiny thing" is the faucet. When taking a bath Adam is always interested in the handle.

CSPM Junior Ball

Rex is finishing up his third year at CSPM and it is a tradition for the students to have a big party before they all part ways for fourth year. The event took place at Russian restaurant called Fandorin. I was really excited to have an excuse for a nice fancy date with some fun friends.

We started out with about six appetizers that were set out on the tables and we had fun trying to figure out what they all were before we ate them. I think I tried some eel for the first time. This one looks like a tasty dessert right?

Well, one of our friends put some on her plate, smelled it and said, "I am NOT eating that." So we didn't bother trying it. Later we found out that it was chicken liver pate. Ha!

After we were done tasting the appetizers they brought out a few more courses. My favorite was the Khachapury.

Who wouldn't like a pastry puff filled with yummy melted cheese?

By the time we were all full and ready to go home one of the waiters came out and said the MAIN course got burned and that they were cooking us a new one. We decided we couldn't pay big bucks and leave before the main course so we stayed and joined the dance floor. We should have danced longer to burn off all the calories we just ate, but it was much more fun to watch all the tipsy middle-aged Russians dancing the night away. Sorry I didn't snap a picture of that action for you!

At about 10 pm the main course arrived. I'm not sure exactly what all of the meats were but it was yummy. I have NEVER eaten so much. It was kind of crazy, but fun at the same time.

Our friends Derek and Angel. What a cute couple!

Here we are stuffed and ready to go home!

March Madness

A few pictures to sum up the rest of March.

I guess I have been giving off some negative vibes in the kitchen lately because it has started taking its revenge on me. First, the butter knife jumped out of the dish dryer and tried to stab me...

Next, my casserole dish (containing a yummy graham cracker crust) exploded and sent shards of glass shooting in my direction. Luckily I was able to get away without a scratch. FYI don't turn on the WRONG burner under a pyrex dish covered with a plastic lid.

To top it off my oven/stove hasn't been working since Saturday morning. Hopefully it will be fixed before the weekend and I can show my oven (and the rest of my kitchen) how much I really appreciate it before my luck runs out!

Now on to more pictures of Adam because we all know that's why you are reading this.

His new thing is to completely block out the world while he eats.

The best time to snuggle with this little guy is while he is sleeping. It's really the only time he is holding still!

Adam is wondering why Daddy is taking the picture while Mommy is giving him a bath. Usually the roles are reversed!

Another sleeping picture. I love how their hands are resting the same!

Adam's friend Trey and his new toy. It is like a bumbo seat but has straps to buckle him in and a rotating toy attachment. He LOVES it!

Adam is learning how to sit up on his own and he can do it for quite awhile if he starts out with good balance.

We also decided it was time to try Adam on some rice cereal. I think its hilarious that they call that stuff "solid food." It looks like very watery mush to me! Adam wasn't too impressed.

"Spring Break"

We don't really have a "Spring Break" but my mom and sister really wanted to see Adam and came up with a plan for a fun trip together. Adam and I flew from here to Vegas and Melissa drove up from Arizona. We hung out in BC for a couple of days and got some wonderful pictures of Adam taken by my Aunt Cheryl. If you are in the Vegas area and need good pictures, check out her site. I will be posting them soon, I promise!

During the trip Adam got to try out all of the fun toys at Grammy's house. The bumbo seat was fun, but he REALLY loved the excersaucer. I'll try to post of video of him in it below. While he was in it he let out his first real giggle!

On Wednesday we loaded up the car with the four of us and Grandma Snow. When we got past St. George it started to snow and about a minute later the windshield wiper broke! Luckily the snow let up enough for us to make it to Cedar and get if fixed. Once it was fixed the snow stopped. Go figure.

On Thursday night we had a bridal shower for my brother's finance, Jill (next to Adam). She is so much fun and we love her already.

Her mom and sister drove down from Oregon and it was fun to meet them.

Adam was treated like a king at Aunt Linda's house where there were plenty of people to hold him and comfy beds to sleep on.

He also got to meet Gracie, my cousin Greg's cute new daughter.

Adam thought she was cute and was trying REALLY hard to hold her hands.

Snuggling with Uncle Brandon.

Now you can see where Adam gets his red hair from.

On Friday Aunt Melissa watched Adam while my mom and I drove all over Salt Lake City looking at apartments. They both helped me so much. Thanks a ton!

On Saturday a few hours before we flew home, I was super blessed to be able to go to lunch with some of my favorite girlfriends. One of them just happened to be in town from New York visiting her family. Lucky me!

Overall it was a great trip, but it was missing just one thing...

Daddy!

Thanks for all of the hard work you do for us. We love you!

Four Months

So I got on the computer to blog about Adam being four months old today. Then I got side tracked on this blog. I think all of the pretty pictures of the food make me want to make it all. Yum!

Here is the latest news on our favorite little boy...

Head Circumference: 44cm (90th %)
Weight: 15lbs 13oz. (75th %)
Height: 24 or 25 inches (55th %) She said 24 to me and then I noticed later that she wrote 25 in his book, so we'll have to measure him and see which is right.

He still has the same expression when he sees me get out the camera!

After taking about 10 shots trying to get a smile, I pretended to put the camera away and got him to smile at me while I snapped a picture from the side. Success!

What do you do on rainy days? I decided to give Adam a fauxhawk.

This last month Adam has been so much fun! He doesn't fuss near as much and he loves to laugh and smile at us. He is rolling over a little bit more. He is starting to make more sounds. He is also reaching out and grabbing EVERYTHING! I can already tell I am going to have my hands full when this kid starts moving. He has a toy bar with 3 toys that hang on it. Two of them are attached with velcro and the other one is permanently stuck on because it plays music and is heavy. Adam has learned to pull the plush ones off and he tries and tries to pull off the middle one. It just keeps playing music and when he can't pull it off he starts screaming! It's pretty funny. One of his current favorite things to do is look at himself (and whoever is holding him) in the mirror.

Adam has strong legs and LOVES standing up.

He is getting much better about being on his tummy, but its still not his favorite thing to do.

One of MY favorite things is to cuddle up with him and feed him!

One of Rex's favorite things is to give him a bath and get him ready for Church on Sunday morning.

Aren't my boys handsome?!

Rex also likes to give Adam zerberts.

I love Adam's expression in the last picture. "Dad, what are you doing to me?"

Here he is rolling over!
