Take Me Out to the Ballgame
On Wednesday night Rex and I went to an Oakland A's game with some of his friends from school and their "spice" (Kimball family term for spouses). It was my first time to one of the games and we enjoyed ourselves.
It was freezing outside! Luckily Ryan and Jen shared their blanket with us. As you can see there weren't very many other fans willing to brave the cold.
Rex told me it is a tradition to stand up during the 7th inning and sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." I had no idea!
The A's were playing the Minnesota Twins and we won 3-0! We rode the BART home and we heard a lady say to her friend, "the A's must have lost because no one looks happy." Rex told her that we did win and we figured that everyone was too cold to smile. Hopefully the next game will be warmer!

Bag Tag
This is the first time I've gotten "tagged" and this one seemed simple enough. Here it is...
The Rules:
1. Show your bag
(Great couch eh? Its not mine.)
2. Show ALL of the contents of your bag... NO cleaning it out first!

Items in bag: wallet, paycheck (which I noticed was written to Amy Snow, weird because my boss only knows me as Amy Kimball), gift cards, hair ties, tissue, grocery list and recipes, Skittles chapstick, watch, nail clippers (I seem to need them all of the time), a little mouthwash that came free with the big bottle, and last but not least my keys and cell phone!
People I tag: Lindsay, Allison, Melissa, Laura, Britney

Fun Backgrounds
Oooooo! I finally sat down and figured out how to make the background cute. This could get addicting...
Rex's first post (kind of)
I woke up from a Sunday nap and went to my computer to look at blogs. After about half an hour Rex walked in and said, "I can't sleep without you putting my arm to sleep."
Me: "Guess what?"
Rex: "You sold our car and bought a pogo stick?"
We were driving down the road and saw an old ironing board left out on the street. Rex asked, "Do you want a new ironing board?" After I replied "no" he quickly added, "Do you want a new surfboard?"
The other day Rex was studying and decided he needed a break. By the end of his break he had created his own version of a few of our local advertisements.

I don't know about the rest of you, but where we live we see these billboards everywhere! They are on the sides of buses and there are advertisements on the radio, etc. I have to agree with Rex and I'll be glad when they are all taken down.

Spring Break
Rex had Spring Break later than most students so last week we flew down to visit my mom in Las Vegas and got to meet her new fiance. They will be getting married on July 11th! Congratulations Mom and Steve! We enjoyed watching conference together and meeting Steve's family. I got to watch my little brother do a great job at his track meet on Friday. The following Tuesday we decided to drive to LA and activate our season passes to Six Flags.
We choose a great day to go because there was great weather and no lines! It was really fun to be with Rex and see how exited he gets to go on roller coasters.

We went straight from roller coaster to roller coaster and there are tons of fun ones there. By far our favorite one was called the TATSU. On that one they buckled us in and then before we took off the seats were shifted up so that our whole bodies were parallel to the ground (and the track). Its hard to describe but once we took off it felt like we were flying! I screamed my head off but really it was the most incredible ride I've ever been on. Instead of having a head and stomachache at the end I actually felt relaxed. Hard to believe? Go try it out!

Time to be a tourist!
Ahh! I'm starting to get behind on my posts. The last weekend of March when Rex's parents were in town we did a bit of site-seeing. I was excited because I've lived in Berkeley for 3 months and finally got to go see San Fransisco! First, we took the BART across the bay and got on a Muni bus (which a cute old lady informed Rex "It isn't a bus, its a trolley!!!") Ha ha.

Then we rode down to Pier 33 to catch our boat ride to Alcatraz Island.
Me in jail.
Overall it was an excellent tour (but very cold), so we got some hot chocolate and took our boat back to the pier and enjoyed the beautiful view.

We made our way over to Pier 39 and stopped for lunch at a yummy seafood restaurant with a beautiful view of the bay. I ate the best salmon I've ever had in my life! (Rex ate a chicken sandwich).

To end our day we walked over to look at the sea lions and then walked down to catch a REAL trolley car back to the BART station. When we got there and found out the wait would be an hour or longer we decided to take a cab. I think after we got there Rex's mom was glad to be alive and was wishing we waited in line for the trolley. We had a crazy cab driver!

White Coat Ceremony
This summer Rex will start his clinical rotations for podiatry school. Last weekend his class had their White Coat Ceremony where he was presented his first white coat to wear. Rex informed me that it is shorter than a doctor's coat to signify that he is still a student. I think he looks great in it! What do you think?
Congratulations Rex!

Rex's parents came from Arizona for the ceremony. Thanks for coming. We love you!

Spring is Here!
I am so happy that the weather is finally warming up a little! (I was expecting California to be a bit warmer). We had fun helping at our ward Easter egg hunt the Saturday before Easter. I didn't bring my camera but I wish I did. I had no idea there would be so many eggs! On Easter Sunday we had some friends over for dinner. Scott and Toni brought their new baby Cambria. Isn't she cute?
