Summer Visitors!

Lily is exactly two months older than Adam and she is such a sweetheart. Unlike Adam, she loves to snuggle, so Rex took advantage of it!

Bath time! This is the one they will be embarrassed about when they are fourteen.

Adam found the cousins' snacks. I should have gotten a picture of his face after they spilled all over and the whole room gasped and yelled in reaction to it. Let's just say he wasn't a happy camper.

Carileigh and Elleigh made a fort out of their beds and Adam thought it was the best thing ever!
(Sorry I don't know how to make the video post in the right direction).

We lit a firework before it got dark for the babies too see. Here is what they thought of it:

On July 17th we had a Roylance Family Reunion (my Mom's side). My sister came up from Arizona and my mom and Steve from Nevada. The only one missing was Scott (aka Elder Snow)!

Eating Cafe Rio at Aunt Laurel's house. Yum!

Adam playing with Uncle Brandon

Shortlty after we took this picture poor Melis got sick and was feeling bad the whole weekend!

We had the reunion in a backyard of one of my cousin's clients. We swam in the pool, played volleyball and ping pong, ate a yummy dinner, played a trivia game about Gma and Gpa Roylance. We all had a great time!

This was Adam's first time in a big pool. I don't know if it was all of the screaming cousins or what but he was scared for awhile, which surprised me because of how much he loves his bath.

It took him awhile to loosen his death grip on us. Then daddy threw him around for a little bit. He still wasn't sure he liked the whole pool thing. By the end he loosed up and started splashing and smiling more. That's my boy!

Maybe we stayed in the pool a little too long?

Ready for a post swim nap!

I played some volleyball with cousins while Rex and Adam took a nap. After that Rex got out his big bubble maker for the little kids.

Before we left Adam found a walker and tried it out for the first time.

I think he likes it!

The Fourth

So Rex and I heard that people go set up blankets at Sugarhouse park early in the day to save a spot to watch fireworks. So I went up there around 11 a.m. and looked around until I found a couple of people setting up blankets. I added ours to the small group and left. Around 5 p.m. it was getting windy and I was afraid that our blankets had blown away so we went to check on them and luckily they were fine. However, we did notice the number of blankets increasingly quickly. Around 7:30 Rex went to stay with the blankets to make sure no one moved them as the masses started pouring in. I stayed at home and cooked some pizzas while I waited for Rex's sister's family to arrive from Arizona. We finally all joined Rex at the blankets at about 9:45 p.m. with a few minutes to spare before the start of the show.

Adam and cousin Lily

Rex and Adam watching the fireworks. I thought Adam was going to be crying the whole time from being either tired or scared or both. However, he surprised me and happily watched most of the fireworks. When he wasn't watching them he was doing this...

So was all of the waiting and spot saving worth it? Well it turned out that the people I followed to put down the blankets knew what they were doing. We were so close to where they fireworks were being launched that we all ended up laying down on our backs to watch them.

I think everyone agreed that it was the best view they had ever had of a firework show. It was pretty awesome. I do have to add that as I layed there next to Adam and Rex and watched the show I could help feeling overwhelmed with thankfulness for my family and the opportunity we have to live in this great country. God Bless America!

Summertime

On a hot afternoon our neighbors pulled out the sprinkler and the babies had a blast.

Adam's new friend, Lily.

Obviously, Adam got over his grass phobia quickly.

Tasting the water.

If you couldn't tell from all of the pictures, Adam LOVED it!

Haircut

Here is a picture for you Mom!

Rex and I both like it and Adam likes to pull it!

It is even shorter when I let it go curly, which to be honest is most of the time. However, its fun to do it straight when I have an extra hour (aka Sunday morning when Rex is home).

Our busy body

As I was adding pictures to this post I realized that I never mentioned that Adam started crawling. He started doing it the first week of June and really had it down by the second week. So he has been crawling all over the place this last month. Here is some footage...

June 11th, 2010

The story that goes along with this picture is that the first time I sat Adam down in the lawn at our new place he just sat there, clenched his fists, and grunted. He did NOT like the grass. He sat there for a VERY long time because he didn't want to crawl and touch it. Rex got home from work and decided that this was a good teaching moment and kept Adam sitting there while I went inside to cook dinner. Every time I looked out the window Adam was still sitting in the same place and Rex was trying all sorts of things to get Adam to crawl to him. They were out there for a LONG time and despite my protests neither of them would give in. By the time I grabbed my camera Rex took pity on Adam and let him "walk" off of the grass. I wish I had my camera out sooner. It was pretty funny.

The rest of the pictures are ones I snapped of Adam playing this past month. His new favorite thing is to pull himself up on EVERYTHING (including my knee skin, ouch!).

Caught with a pen from Mom's purse that he pulled off the desk.

No feet. Ha ha!

No teeth yet, but who needs them with a smile like that?

Adam loves to play with the buckles on his high chair, carseat, stroller, etc.

This little baby is growing into a little boy so fast! I just LOVE the age he is at right now. He is so curious about everything (you should see his face while he watches us brush our teeth) and he loves to be outside and watch other people. It is so easy to make him smile and laugh. I feel so lucky to hang out with him everyday.

FamilyTime

Our new apartment has washer/dryer hookups so my mom and Steve drove up and brought us a washer and a dryer to use while we are here. It sure beats hauling loads of laundry to the coin-ops. Yay!

They were just here for a quick trip, but we decided to go visit the "This Is The Place" monument. It was my first time ever going there, I don't know why I never saw it sooner.

Heber C. Kimball (Rex's great, great, great, grandfather), Brigham Young, and Willard Richards

Mom and Steve standing with the statue of Erastus Snow (my great, great, great grandfather) and Orson Pratt.

Adam with the monument showing BOTH of his great, great, great, great grandfathers. I was pretty excited about that.

A week after that we drove down to Kanab for a Jacob Hamblin family reunion (Rex's middle name is Hamblin).

Happy to have mom as company in the backseat.

We didn't get there until Friday night and most of his siblings had to leave Saturday afternoon. It was fun to see everyone even though it was a quick trip. Rex's parents stayed an extra night with us so we didn't have to turn around and drive so far back home after being there less than 24 hours. We stayed in a SUPER nice hotel that had just been remodeled and reopened. I didn't really get any pictures until right before we left to drive home.

Adam taking advantage of the super comfy bed. (Daddy posed him)

Playing one last round of Ticket to Ride before we left to drive home.

One solution for keeping baby hands off of the game pieces.

Good bye kisses from Grandma Kimball.

Three generation Father's Day picture!

Adam is one lucky little guy!
