Anyone Out There?
I have taken a very LONG break from blogging (considering that fact that I haven't posted since Thanksgiving and its now the middle of October). I decided that instead of listing all of the reasons I have for being MIA I am just going to start posting again. I found a couple of drafts of posts I wrote about some of Adam's milestones at 18 and 21 months. They don't have pictures yet but I decided to go ahead and post them below. If there is anyone out there still reading, here is an update for you...
After traveling around for externships we had only four more months left in our apartment in Salt Lake City. In March we found out that we wouldn't be able to get a residency this year and that we would have to wait and try again next year. This was hard news for us, but looking back now I would say it has helped us grow closer as a family. Rex graduated from the California School of Podiatric Medicine in May. We are know living in Queen Creek, Arizona with Rex's sister's family and we are doing well. Rex got a preceptorship working for a podiatrist in Goodyear. He has a super long commute but other than that he is very happy working for Dr. Cox. He is also currently working with another podiatrist on some research opportunities and studying for the upcoming board exams. I am having fun trying to keep up with Adam and he is having a blast living with his cousins. I am also earning some money on the side by working with my nephews with disabilities. It is so great to see Adam interact and play with them. Our little guy is going to turn two hear in a couple of weeks. I can't believe how fast he is growing up. I will try to post pictures soon!

21 Months Today!
I started this awhile back and never really finished. It is a random list of things I wanted to remember about Adam at this age.
Repeats back words he hears and has really good pronunciation
Some of my favorite things he says are "I did it!" "I going to get you" "More please okay" when counting he says "one,two,one,two", and when he picks up a book and opens it he will say "ABC"
he is jumping all over and off the furniture and stairs
LOVES balls of any kind and can indentify them in pictures everywhere
good at throwing, kicking, wacking, rolling the ball
He also really likes to play with cars, jump on the trampoline, dance,swim, take care of baby dolls, go for walks and watch airplanes fly in the sky.
He is mostly happy all of the time
The few things he doesn't like is when mom won't let him go outside when it is 110 degrees outside, he hates having his teeth brushed, and he throws tantrums when I won't let him eat crackers all day.
He still likes to snuggle and give hugs, high five, knuckles, blow kisses, and wave bye bye, etc.
I love his big toothy smile when he realizes he is about to get chased or tickled.
He is learning to say his prayers and it is the cutest thing on earth!

We Made It
After our four months on the road we finally made it back to our apartment in Salt Lake City. While it is nice to be home it was quite the shock going from 70 degree weather in Arizona to below zero temperatures here in Utah. As soon as we have our internet up and running again, hopefully I will be able to start updating on a more regular basis!

Dear Adam
It has already been two and a half months since your birthday, but I wanted to write down a bunch of things that I love about you so we can always remember them!
I love how wherever I take you, you seem to brighten up everyone's day. You are very friendly and you say "hi" to everyone you see, even if they are way to far away to hear you. Most of the time you have a big smile on your face and it is very contagious. Right now you have six and a half teeth, four on top, two on bottom, and the seventh is a molar starting to grow in the back.
You love dogs and you have learned how to "be gentle" and pet them without wacking them with excitement (most of the time). You also love to hug ANYTHING that is soft, which includes stuffed animals, fuzzy blankets, pillows, and even people's hair when they are laying down where you can reach their heads.
I love how you are such a good sleeper. You still take two 2-hour naps a day and then you sleep 10-11 hours at night. That must be why you are growing into such a big boy! When people pick you up the usual comment is "Wow, he is solid!" At your doctor's appointment you were in the 90th percentile for both height and weight.
One of my most favorite things about you is how much you LOVE music. It doesn't matter what kind of music is playing, you always dance to it. If it is classical or church music, you sway your arms like you are leading it. If there is any other kind of upbeat music on you are bouncing your knees, moving you arms, and twirling around. You even tap your feet on your carseat and bounce in your high chair.

Thanksgiving
We left Tucson and started on our way to Nevada to spend Thanksgiving with my side of the family. We planned to get there the night before, but because of traffic (and us being tired) we decided to stay in Tempe and then get up early and drive to Boulder City in the morning. It had been awhile since we had seen some of the Snow family members so we were excited. We got there as everyone was waking up and we decided we better have the Turkey Bowl BEFORE we ate, or else it might not happen. So we headed to a nearby park to play some football.

It was FREEZING cold so Melissa helped me keep Adam warm. I played a couple of downs and then decided to take him back to Grammy's house. Thanks to all of the cooks we had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner. Steve deep fried the turkey and I have to say that is my new favorite way to eat turkey. It is so moist and yummy and it took only a little over an hour to cook! After the cleanup we played some games and enjoyed each other's company. Family is great!

Tiptoes :)The next day we decided to brave the crowds and go walk across the new dam bridge and check it out. It is quite impressive and has a great few of the Hoover Dam. It has been nice to drive across it in our recent travels.

The Party
Our little Adam turned ONE on November 4th, 2010 and we were able to celebrate it a few days later at Grandma and Grandpa Kimball's house. It was a beautiful day so we had perfect weather to have the party in the backyard.

Adam has 30 cousins on the Kimball side and almost all of them were able to come to the party! We planned some Minute to Win It games and tried to make sure everyone had fun.
Adam had a blast running around the backyard and climbing on and off the trampoline.
The Kimball family has a special "Happy Birthday" song and Adam actually held still to listen to the whole thing so I think he liked it!
I knew there would be a lot of people wanting cake, so I asked my mom to make one to add to what I already had planned. She whipped this cute monkey up the night before and then drove down to Arizona with it the next day. It turned out super cute. Thanks Grammy!
This is the cake I made for Adam to smash. I love the Junior Mint eyes.
I saw these cupcakes online and I thought they would be fun for all of the cousins. Grandma Kimball and Aunt Kitty helped me make them and I think they turned out even cuter than the ones I originally saw.
