Birthday Belly

Here is my 29th week belly shot from my birthday. I get a bit scared when I think this little guy still has 1o weeks to get bigger. I'm going to be huge! Anyway, to celebrate my 27 years on this earth Rex brought me flowers and a sweet card (from him and the baby) to enjoy since he wouldn't be home. His school scheduled classes both Saturday and Sunday that he has to attend. Of course they had to do that when my birthday fell on a Saturday!

When Rex got home we left to enjoy a nice Thai dinner at a cute little restaurant. I have always loved Thai food thanks to my dad! When we got home Rex helped me make my birthday cake. He took a break from helping and got out the camera to get some belly pictures for my mom.

And a close up...

We made a Chocolate Pudding Cake, which was a new recipe I found online that I was really excited to try. When Rex found out what we were making he said, "Oh, this is my dad's favorite cake." It turns out that I have had this Kimball family favorite recipe ever since we have been married in a little recipe book my sister-in-laws made for me. Why did I not notice it before? There is a batter layer, two other layers of different toppings, then you pour some boiling water over everything right before it goes in the oven. When it comes out you have cake on the top and warm chocolate pudding underneath it. It was so yummy!

This picture is random but I wanted to remember that I was laughing at Rex for sticking a toothpick in the cake and lighting it as soon as it came out of the oven. He started singing and the flame kept going out so he re-lit it a couple of times before I convinced him to get a some real candles out of the cupboard.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

Muir Woods and Stinson Beach

Rex had a couple of days off the last week of July so we planned a little day trip. When my family came in May I took them to Muir Woods but Rex had class and wasn't able to come with us. So the first stop was to see the trees.

I have super long arms so we had to check out my wingspan!
(this picture doesn't do them justice)

Rex wanted to document my tree-hugging!

Rex made me laugh the whole time by being the tour guide..."On your left you will see a tall tree and if you look up ahead to your right you will see another tall tree..." You get the picture.

We saw two cute baby deer with their spots.

Our next stop was Stinson Beach for a picnic lunch. Neither of us had been to this beach before so we really enjoyed the scenic drive!

It was cool and breezy but there were still quite a few sunbathers and a couple of boogie boarders. Rex and I were with the other half of the people on the beach wearing jackets. My toes only lasted a few seconds in the water. It was freezing!

My handsome husband

We walked a little ways down the beach and Rex found me a sand dollar. I was pretty excited because when my family used to go to Mexico on vacation we searched all over for them and weren't very successful. Thanks honey!

Six Down, Three to Go

I have had a few requests for a "side belly shot" so here you go! Here I am at 24 weeks. This is one of my outfits that I feel the most pregnant in. I have definitely started to pop out a lot more the past couple of weeks. I went to the grocery store yesterday and the cashier asked if I was going to have a girl. That was the first time a stranger has said anything to me about being pregnant! It made me happy. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I still have a lot to do to get ready!

The Big Day

Today my youngest brother Scott entered the Missionary Training Center! He will be there for about three weeks before he leaves for Auckland. Now all four of us have been missionaries. Way to go Elder Snow! Return with Honor.

God Bless America

Last year we were in Arizona so this was our first 4th of July here in the Bay Area. We didn't really make plans or know what to do. Then I checked my email and found a reminder about a performance at the Oakland Temple. So I made Rex wear his red shirt and we went and listened to some patriotic music by a choir and orchestra of local church members. They put on a great show. My favorite part was watching how much the people in the audience were enjoying themselves. There were a few little boys in front of me conducting the orchestra from their seats. I also saw an elderly lady to my left tapping her fingers to the beat of her favorite songs. Music is so powerful! I love it!

If you have never been to the Oakland temple it is set on a hill with an awesome view. After the performance we joined the crowd and waited for the fireworks to begin. At first we could only see a bunch of smaller fireworks being set off from the neighborhoods below. After awhile bigger shows started at about 3 or 4 different locations that we could see. We were up so high that the fireworks seemed pretty far away but we still enjoyed them.

These aren't the best pictures of us but you can kind of see my belly in this picture. I have had some requests for a "side" belly shot. I will try to do that soon! Happy 4th of July!

Scott's Farewell

While I was in NV I got to see lots of family that were in town for Scott's farewell. He did a great job speaking in church about the joy and strength that the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring into our lives. He is going to be an AMAZING missionary!

What a handsome guy!

I had to include this last picture because it is so typical to see my mom multi-tasking. Here she is cooking Thai food and watering the grass at the same time. I love you Mom!

Another highlight of the trip is that my Grandma Snow just got back from her second mission to Baltimore, Maryland. It is great to have her back and as always we enjoyed some of her yummy food. She is such a great example to me.

Arizona Trip

Near the end of June Rex and I were able to fly to Arizona to go to his niece, Jenessa's wedding. She married a great guy named James, and Rex and I got to meet him for the first time the night before the wedding. They were married on Friday, June 26th, in the Mesa Temple.

Jenessa, James, and cousins!

The cake made by Rex's sister. Fancy, fancy!

My week-old niece Haleigh!

Rex and Jenessa. Congrats!

The day after the wedding Rex and his brothers woke up super early to go golfing. It is very rare that Rex gets to be together with his dad and brothers all at the same time since Trey lives in Georgia. They were roasting hot when they got home at 10 am but they had fun!

I left on Saturday night to make it to Boulder City for Scott's mission farewell on Sunday. Rex stayed in AZ until Monday morning and then flew back to Oakland to cram for his Podiatry board exam. It was a quick but fun (and hot) trip to Arizona! We love you Kimball family!
