Still Baking...

A few weeks ago Rex and thought it would be funny for me to have "a bun in the oven" costume and he would dress up as my baker. So on Friday morning I decided I better start making my oven to wear to the church Halloween party that night. Here is how it turned out...

The box kept tipping and my belly would pop the oven door open. Ha ha! I am 39 weeks pregnant here...one week until our due date. Do you think we will have a Halloween baby?

We ended up winning the "Best Parents" costume award although we aren't technically parents yet!

For the cake walk I made some cupcakes that turned out cute. I love candy corn. Yum!

Our friends Jill and Sunny posing for the perfect picture!

We left the party to catch the Cal vs. U of A volleyball game. My cousin Stephanie plays for Arizona. I've been wanting to watch her play so I'm glad we made it see her. Can you guess how tall this beauty is?

Here is a video clip of the game. Go Steph!

A blue jay and a beer belly

For exercise I like to go walk around a track near where we live. It is mostly surrounded by trees, but there is a spot where there is a break in the trees which gives you an awesome view of the bay. I often see this beautiful bird while I am walking. Today I decided to look it up and its actually called a Steller's Jay and is closely related to the Blue Jay.

I decided that to today I would also start walking the stairs near the track and see if that might help my little baby start to move down a little. In between my hikes up and down the stairs I went and walked a lap around the track. One of the runner's jokingly called out to me, "You need to stop drinking beer, you have a beer belly!" That was a first for me. Ha ha!

Surprise!

On Monday night Rex told me that we needed to go pick up his friend from the Bart station and when we got there my sister was waiting for us! I was so excited! She had a week off from work and decided to come visit us.

We went to Union Square and Chinatown, since those were a couple of places in the city that she hadn't been to in previous visits. She helped me get more prepared for the baby arrival and we tried out the Brazil Cafe in Berkeley.

The next day we did some more shopping and decided that we would go tour the Jelly Belly Factory and get some free samples.

There was a lot of jelly belly art in the factory. This bear was the best one to take a picture of. Pretty impressive.

We had a great time just together and I'm so glad she came. I need to get some more pictures that my sister took on her camera. And just in case the other pictures weren't enough to show my belly growth here is one more...

I have been growing TONS faster the last three weeks, so I guess that's a good sign that our little boy is getting ready to arrive soon! I am now officially at 37 weeks and doing well.

Congrats!

Yesterday my step-brother, Derek, got married to a beautiful girl named Lindsey. Hopefully I will get to see (and post) a picture of the happy event soon. According to my mom it was a beautiful wedding. Congratulations you two!

Another exciting event was that my brother, Scott (aka Elder Snow), and his mission companion were able to baptize a brother and sister in New Zealand. What a wonderful blessing!

Elder Snow, Harlem, Malia, and Elder Swift

With the opportunity to watch General Conference (and snuggle with my husband), I couldn't have asked for a better weekend!

Girl's Day Out

This is one of my dearest friends, Jenni Mae, and her adorable daughter Megan. Jenni lives in New York City and while she was visiting family in Southern California she and her mom decided to come up and visit her brother in Menlo Park. Lucky me!

We went to a fancy French restaurant for lunch (called Left Bank) and had delicious sandwiches.
After that we drove over to the Stanford campus. I had never seen it before and I really enjoyed it. It is such a beautiful campus!

However, I think the best part of the day was being able to chat with one of my best girlfriends. Its hard to beat that! I'm so glad you came Jenni Mae. Love ya!
